Journalist; Ram Khandare Honored with ‘Appa Pendse Journalism Award’

Ram Khandare, the Deputy Editor of ‘Tarun Bharat’ and resident of Powai, received the Appa Pendse Journalism Award for the best reporting column by the Mumbai Marathi Journalist Association. Over the past year, he has been reckoned for writing on civic matters on the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

To congratulate Khandare for this laurel, Avinash Hazare, Raviraj Shinde, Tushar Virkar, Ramesh Kamble, and Gaurav Sharma of the North-East Mumbai Journalists Association visited Ram Khandare at his residence in Powai.

The Mumbai Marathi Journalist Association also honoured other prominent journalists at the award ceremony. Yogesh Bidwai and Ajay Kautikwarthe were presented with the Jaihind Prakashan Award. Vidyadhar Gokhale Fine Writing award was presented to Chandrasekhar Kulkarni. Comrade TK Sarmalkar Award was received by Vidyadhar Gokhale. Kamlesh Sutar was given the Ramesh Bhogte Award, and for his reporting on education, Suresh Vandile was presented with the 'Shivner' Kar Vishwanathrao Vable Memorial Award.

Mumbai Marathi Journalists Association had organized the award ceremony at Journalists Bhavan on January 6, and celebrated as Journalist's Day. Writer Sandeep Vaslekar graced the event to present the awards to the winners. Narendra Vable, the Mumbai Marathi Journalists Association president thanked all the winners and attendees.
