The Mumbai police have launched an investigation into the sexual harassment complaint filed by Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, a Resident of Powai. also known as Roshan Kaur Sodhi from the popular sitcom 'Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah,' against producer Asit Kumarr Modi and two crew members. Asit Modi denied the allegations, asserting that Jennifer was dismissed from the show due to misbehavior. Jennifer's sudden departure from the show after 15 years came as a shock to fans. However, she later came forward with allegations of sexual harassment against Asit Modi, and despite his denial, she remains resolute in her claims. A First Information Report (FIR) will be registered once statements from the individuals named in the complaint are recorded, as stated by a police official.
Earlier, Jennifer Mistry had sent an email to the Powai police in Mumbai, expressing her grievances against the producer and two crew members. Subsequently, she filed a written complaint with the police, accusing them of sexual harassment. The complaint, received on May 8, was submitted through the National Commission for Women (NCW), which she had approached seeking justice. According to the actress, the producer had sexually harassed her on multiple occasions over the past few years.
In response to Jennifer's accusations, Asit Modi, the producer of TMKOC, refuted the claims, considering them baseless. He stated to TOI, "This is just a fake and baseless allegation, and it holds no truth. She is trying to tarnish my image. I am not making excuses or covering up. Everyone knows my true nature. We terminated her from the show. My director and the team asked her to leave. We have all the evidence and documents to support our side, and my production will provide them soon."

I shot my last episode of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah on March 6 this year. I had to leave the sets because I faced humiliation and insult at the hands of Mr. Sohil Ramani and the other executive producer, Jatin Bajaj."
She further added, "The incident occurred on March 7, which was my marriage anniversary and Holi. I had informed them that I wanted a half-day off since my daughter awaited Holi celebrations. Sohil Ramani asked me to leave the sets four times, and the executive producer attempted to block my car and prevent me from leaving. I told them that I had worked on the show for 15 years, and they couldn't forcefully stop me. As I was leaving, Sohil threatened me.
