Powai Lake has experienced a significant overflow as a result of continuous rainfall in the surrounding catchment area. According to the water engineer department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the recent incessant rains have caused the lake to surpass its maximum capacity. This artificial lake, under the management of the BMC, reached its full capacity at 6:15 pm. It is worth noting that the lake has a storage capacity of 545 crore liters and is primarily utilized for industrial purposes, as it is not suitable for human consumption.
