The vibrant musical extravaganza, the Mrs. Madhavi Kulkarni Music Festival 2024, concluded on a high note on Sunday, March 10th, at Dimakha in Bhandup. Organized by the Yashshree Sangeet Kala Academy, the festival once again showcased Mumbai's commitment to nurturing and embracing talent from across Maharashtra.
The event saw the presence of numerous esteemed artists and dignitaries, including renowned vocalist Pt. Dr. Arun Kashalkar and Shri. Malati Kolhatkar, the Director of Ghatkopar Sangeet Vidyalaya. The festival paid homage to the late Mrs. Madhavi Kulkarni, who dedicated her life to supporting budding artists, irrespective of their backgrounds, providing both financial aid and educational opportunities. In continuation of her legacy, Pt. Yashwant Kulkarni, the academy's director, ensured that her vision thrived.
A stellar lineup of performers graced the stage, including Rajendra Darole, Chaitanya Phatak, Aparna Gharpure, Ankansha Athawale, and many others, accompanied by talented musicians like tabla player Sujith Panchal and Samvadini player Kalpesh Sakhalkar. The event owed its success to the efforts of Vinita Amul, who managed the program with finesse.
The festival kicked off with a soulful rendition by Arnav Gere, grandson of Vidushi Madhavi Kulkarni, and Pt. Yashwant Kulkarni. The highlight of the evening was the enchanting performance of Madhavi Kulkarni's famous Bhairavi's Sargam Geet, leaving the audience spellbound yet again.
